The Friday Five is back. A perfect blend of Hoboken and randomness – some fun things I’ve come across this week. Enjoy!

1. Versagram

versagram

Just discovered this app – which is basically an Instagram add-on – you can write messages on various backgrounds. Super fun…and I love that the yellow chevron is just like dear hannah’s store in Hoboken!

2. Shleebee at Iconic Fashion Lounge

Loved these Shleebee handmade bracelets by designer Ashlee Kross – who is also a local Hoboken resident! These gorgeous studded and spiked numbers are being sold at one of my favorite boutiques, Iconic Fashion Lounge.

3. Hurricane Salad

hurricane salad

This was a staple when the power was out – I called it hurricane salad. Boiled quinoa mixed with chopped onions & tomatoes + canned corn & black beans. Add a little olive oil + garlic/salt/pepper and you’re in business – and it keeps for a least a few days! The perfect healthy staple during a hurricane (or just during a regular day, too).

4. Chevron

As much as I hate to admit it, I’m starting to love chevron (I better like it quickly – because I’m sure it will be gone by next fall). Snapped up this chevron number at Anne Klein after a bit of deliberation with my Instagram friends. The verdict was in – it was a go! What do you think of it?

5. Christmas Too Early!

I love the holiday season…but seeing this in the Willowbrook mall recently, I was a little overwhelmed. Is it really Thanksgiving next week ALREADY??!

HG note: Hoboken is still going through a lot – many businesses are still not open, and some are not coming back at all, like Anastasia’s Accessories, which Da Horsey reported on yesterday. My heart goes out to everyone who continues to be affected by Sandy’s wrath. However, like I’ve said in previous posts, I’ve tried to return to some sense of normalcy here, so today I’m doing just that. My blog is filled with the fun and the beautiful parts of Hoboken, mixed in with some of my random thoughts and experiences. If you’d like to help Hoboken, there are a few fundraisers that are this weekend which can be found here: http://hobokengirl.com/the-hobokengirl-guide-to-this-weeks-hoboken-sandy-fundraisers/

Hope you have a fabulous Friday!
